to Choose the
RIGHT sized Dog Bed for your Best Friend.
Here are some quick tips you can use when trying to size a dog bed.
The
first and foremost rule... if you are unsure, always go one size larger
if possible.
Toy Size Breeds
These dogs typically weigh less than 10 lbs and
have a standing height of less than 10 inches.
Small Breeds
This is typically any dog that weighs between
10 and 25 lbs and has a standing height of 10-15
inches. These breeds include Terriers, Dachshunds,
Lhasa Apsos, small Poodles, Miniature Schnauzers,
Pugs, Shih Tzus, Malteses and Whippets.
Medium Breeds
Medium size dogs have a standing height from 15 to 21 inches and weigh
30-80 lbs. These breeds include Australian Cattle Dogs, Cocker Spaniels
and Bulldogs.
Large Breeds
Large dogs stand 21 to 26 inches and weigh between
80 and 120 lbs. Breeds include Golden Retrievers,
Doberman Pinschers, English Setters, Siberian
Huskies and Dalmatians.
Extra Large Breeds
Extra Large dogs typically stand over 26 inches and weigh at least 90
lbs. These breeds include Afghan Hounds, Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds
and Greyhounds.
